Who doesn’t like a hot, smoky chicken stew made with a variety of vegetables! The golden hue of the neck butter adds a different dimension to it. If you see a piece of butter on a hot potato or vegetable slice, your tongue is bound to water! It is understood that butter is an essential part of our kitchen. Which helps to enhance the taste, smell, texture of the food. But we usually see two types of butter – yellow and white. But what exactly is the difference between these two? And which one is safe? Let’s discuss this topic in today’s report.

Turmeric Butter:

This butter is also known as salted butter. This butter is usually eaten with bread or toast. This type of butter actually has a yellowish tinge. Because it contains high amount of fat. And because salt is added to this butter, it lasts for many days. Yellow butter is actually processed and contains a lot of trans-fats. As a result, its calorie content increases a lot. If this yellow butter is consumed in excess, it can increase sodium levels in the body. Which is not very good for cholesterol levels in the body.

White Butter:

White butter is actually known as Nani. It is basically the natural, non-processed or unprocessed version of butter. These include healthy fats or good fats. Even with the help of Malai, this white butter can easily be prepared at home. Another interesting fact is that another ingredient is available while preparing butter from malai. And that is buttermilk. Which is good for stomach health and also helps in weight loss. After making white butter it can also be used to prepare homemade ghee. Comparing with yellow butter, it can be seen that white butter does not last very long. But if kept in the freezer it lasts for a long time.

Which is safe to eat?

For those who like to eat butter daily, if they eat moderate amounts of white and yellow butter, then it is not harmful. Rather safe. But experts advise to eat white butter. In fact, the best thing about white butter is that it can be made at home. And it does not require any processing, chemicals, color or salt. 1 tablespoon of white butter contains 90 calories and the same amount of yellow butter contains 105 calories.

Process of Making White Butter:

  • Fill a big bowl and take malai. Of course it should be at room temperature. After that put the malai in the blender jar.
  • Add a cup of cold water to the blender and blend it well. In this case it is best to blend in pulse mode.
  • Now open the blender jar and take the mixture in a big bowl.
  • It can be seen that the butter has separated from the mixture and a watery liquid component remains.
  • After that add another cup of cold water to it. Now slowly take out the butter parts.
  • Now take the butter part with your hand and press it lightly and keep it in a big bowl.
  • After that, keep the white butter in the fridge for 10 to 12 minutes and cool it down, it is ready to eat.
