The sales of electric vehicles tripled in the last financial year.

Electric Vehicle: 4,29,217 electric vehicles have been sold in the fiscal year 2021-2022, increasing three times.

Electric vehicle production and sales are growing rapidly as electric vehicle use is completely zero-polluting and offers affordable travel options amid rising fuel prices. In particular, sales of electric vehicles have tripled in the 2021-2022 financial year. FADA, an organization for electric vehicle dealers, has released this information.

While 1,34,821 electric vehicles were sold in the last financial year 2020-2021, in the completed financial year 2021-2022, there has been a three-fold increase and 4,29,217 vehicles have been sold. A total of 1,68,300 vehicles have been sold in the last financial year 2019-2020.

*Passenger Vehicle Sales:
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has issued a statement in this regard, “In the last financial year 2021, the sale of electric passenger vehicles was 4,984, which has increased three times to 17,802 vehicles in the last financial year. Domestic motor vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors is the leader in this segment. With sales of around 15,198 vehicles, it maintains a market share of 85.37 percent. In the last financial year 2020-21, the company’s sales figure was 3,523.

In the last financial year, MG Motors came second in sales. 2,045 vehicles have been sold on behalf of that company. The company had sold 1,115 vehicles in the last financial year 2020-21. In the sales list, Mahindra & Mahindra Company (!56 vehicles) is at the third position and Hyundai Motor India Company (128 vehicles) is at the fourth position.

*Two wheeler sales:
While only 41,046 two-wheelers were sold in the last financial year 2020-2021, in the last financial year it has increased by 5 times to a total of 2,31,338 vehicles. Hero Electric is the leader in two-wheeler sales. The company has sold 65,303 vehicles with a market share of 28.23 percent.

This was followed by Okinawa Autotech in second position with sales of 46,447 vehicles and Ampere in third position with sales of 24,648 vehicles. With 19,971 vehicles sold on behalf of Hero Motor Cab, the company is ranked 4th in the list.

FADA has published this list based on data collected from a total of 1,605 regional transport offices in the country. Sales of commercial electric vehicles in the last financial year stood at 2,203.
